Easy Eye Defining Make Up & Life Update

6:06 AM Nathasya Pricilia B Kristianto 0 Comments

Hello there!

It has been some times since I updated this space, and I thought that it is already time to do so cos this blog looks so dead. So the other days I was going out with my relatives at night and I wanted to do something that focuses more on the eyes. I always think that playing with your eyes (both eyelid and brow) is a good way if you want to change up your look for time to time. For example, a day when I want to look natural, I will just put like nude-shimmery on my inner lid to make it pop as I have a very high double eyelid. I also do extra work on my eyelashes to make it extra defined. On the other hand if I want to make it more dramatic, I will put dark eyeshadow on the edge of my lid for extra definition. As I was going out at night,  thought I can do dark for the shadow though not too much because I dont want to look like a drag queen LOLOL I actually think that dark shadows suit me as I have very BIG and protruding eyes, so it actually helps to make it look less scary. I will put all the products I used for this look below!

FYI, honestly I had thinking for some time to make this blog private. There are deets and dats that makes me wanting to do so, one being.... I couldn't take the judgemental mindset that some people have. I tried to not care, but how do you exactly deal with  negativity? Another reason would be,  I am more and more realizing that I actually am an introvert extrovert. For those who know me, LOL I am so cerewet and cablak in real life. Socializing was not a huge problem for me, but truth be told its actually quite burdensome. I like my circle to be small. For example, when I was starting on Path, I uploaded tonnes of pictures, write what I wanted, checked in on places like nobody business but as time goes by, and I have more friends (its not even a lot lol i dn even have 200 friends) it bothers me soooo much. What people thought, what people will say. I am so conscious of everything, it is often sickening. So... I am really contemplating to make it private, more love and less hate! When I checked my page views, it actually surprised me. I wonder if people who visit this space finds it helpful? or just simply hating and judging on everything that I do, everything I say. I couldnt take it when people told me I'm so emo and I look good thanks to my make up. Seriously? I dont think you should even open your mouth unless it is a CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. So a word of advice for people out there, before saying something about other people please put yourself in their shoes.

On another note, I finally made up my mind of what to do next ha! Getting my master is definitely still on my list, but I'm doing something that I felt is the right thing to do as of now. Oh well I will let life takes me to wherever.... but in the meantime I am crossing my finger that I'm not making a mistake.

So yeah..... until then :)

Sephora Bali Buys (February 2016)

I've been a fan of Sephora ever since relocating to Singapore few years back. I like these kinds of multi brand store where you just need to stop by one place and get all of your shopping (or research) done. The brand has just recently opened its first branch here in Bali, so I went to visit to take a look at the store. I was pretty much excited because the make up scene in Bali is very 'meh'. I never rely on buying off line since the brands that I use are mainly not available, so it is mostly online shopping or I stocked up when I go overseas. They have brands such as, Shu Uemura, Too Faced, Guerlain, Make up Forever, Benefit, Dior, Stila, Lancôme, Marc Jacobs, Bourjois, Laneige, Foreo, Percy & Reed, Living Proof and so on. I will have to say that stocks are super disappointing, guys. I was super excited to hit the Marc Jacobs counter to get a lipstick in shade 'Understudy' (btw this shade is super pretty!), but to no avail. Lipsticks stocks are pretty bad, they probably only have like 3 shades available out of the entire collection. Same goes for.... everything! Blush, concealer, eyeshadow pallete....... its just mainly everything. Not only for Marc Jacobs, but also for other brands. I'm not really sure whether they were all sold out, orr....?? One thing that also bugs me is that all their testers are just dirty. So lets say they have the products but the tester is not available or it is just shattered/disgusting (and I'm sure you don't even want to touch them :/). I know I shouldn't compare this store with the one in Singapore (especially Sephora at ION Orchard), but it is just not a good experience after all. If you ask me whether I will come back, the answer is yes I will. Since I am a make up junkie, once in a while I will have to check on some stuffs from some brands, you know it is always nice to feel and touch the product before purchasing. But, I will not rely on Sephora Bali until they improve their stocks. As for the prices, they are mmm reasonable? Actually, if you are tourist and you use your overseas card to purchase, it will be cheaper (even after the bank charges and all that) since Indonesian Rupiah recently weakens on some major currency like SGD and USD. Anyway.... long story short I still bought several things since I cant get out empty handed, so here are some of purchases that my sister and I bought.

1. Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Pallete - Rp. 598,000

I wanted to play around with eye make up since that's where I'm the most inexperienced at so this catch my eyes. They do not have stock for the natural eyes pallete (duh) so I settled with this one instead. The pigmentation is good, and I would say this is a very versatile pallete. The packaging is very compact, so it is great for travelling, and all colors are suitable for day and night look.

2. Benefit 'They're real!' Mascara (sample size) - Rp. 190,000
My sister got this since she is a mascara whore lol. She hasn't tried it yet, but I've heard good review for this product, so hopefully it will work on her.

3. Too Faced Melted Lipstick - Rp. 350,000
We got two shades (ok I cant remember the name, but hopefully you can tell by the picture above). I've heard this lipstick from the youtube guru ItsJudyTime, and both my sister and I wanted to try on it since we've never tried on this kind of melted lipstick (or maybe we had? The Etude House Rosy Lip Tint has similar consistency with this), and it does not disappoint. It does not crack dry lips, the color selection is great. Application is easy, but it is sadly does not last really long.

4. Beauty Blender - Rp. 350,000

5. Benefit Porefesional Primer - Rp. 480,000
My staple for primer, finally getting the full size.

6. Make Up Forever Aqua Brow - Rp. 290,000
OMG! I wanted to try this product for so longggg. This is a gel type brow color, that is supposed to be waterproof. I have tried this on, and I would say that if you want to play around with the shape of your eye brow (like I do), try this product especially if you have thick eyebrow, since this product has a very strong pigmentation, so you can draw on hair strokes naturally. But I will say that this is not for someone who is beginner in brow art, as this product is very unforgiving. You can tend to use too much product and thus it will not look natural.

7. Sephora Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover - Rp. 190,000
This product smells weird, but does the job so no complain :)

2016 (Early) Wishlist

2:13 AM Nathasya Pricilia B Kristianto 0 Comments

To kick start the new year ( a little bit late I know :p), these are some stuffs that I am currently coveting:

1. A small cross body black bag

I am currently in need of a small black bag to throw my stuffs while running errand. Something that can hold all of my (unimportant) stuffs when I want to keep both of my hands free. The perfect bag should be in black color (so it will be easier to match), lightweight (lol this one is relative depending on how much I like the bag), made of durable skin (so that I can abuse it, and not worrying on wear and tear). I have done some research and come across selection of bags, such as

  Balenciaga Classic Silver Envelope Strap - US$ 1,185

Louis Vuitton Twice - US$1,440

Celine Trio (Small) - US$1,020

2. Nike Huarache in White - US$ 110

I've been wanting an all white sport shoes since forever. Despite the fact that almost everyone is so against it (cos I'm such a jorok person LOL), I still love the look of it and want a pair. Originally, it doesn't really matter which brand or even if it is not unbranded. When I was in China, I went to an Adidas store in downtown Guangzhou, and found a pair of Stella McCartney x Adidas trainer that comes in full white (a bit of silver detailing here and there, but girl couldn't be bother). But it doesn't come in my size (FML I'm a size 34) so I ended up not getting it. I came across the Nike Huarache in Instagram, and instantly fell in love. I am still not sure how to get my hands on a pair (in all white and in size 34 double FML), but I am currently PATIENTLY waiting for that day to come.

3. Colorpop Lippie Stix (Matte) - US$5 & Shadows - US$ 5

I have previously tried the Colorpop Lippie Stix (the matte one, but I forgot the shade name) and really like the consistency as well as texture of the lipstick. I have really dry lips, and not all matte lips will work on me since they tend to dry out my lips pretty badly. But this one doesn't, I would say that it is comparable to MAC matte lipstick, with almost a third of the price. Since Colorpop cosmetic is all the hype right now, I am very eager to try out new things from them especially their colab with one of my most favorite youtube guru, Kathleen Lights. She came up with 2 eye shadow palette, as well as some lip products. I am trying to get my hand on these stuff from an Indo reseller hopefully, soon! :)

4. Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation - US$62 & Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation Illuminator - US$39

I always believe that a good base make up is the most crucial part of your whole make up look. If your eye make up is on point, you are having a good eyebrow day (very rare for me LOL), your highlighter is spot on but your skin is not looking good, that's the end of the game. I don't have the perfect skin, I have bumps all over my face (it gets worst since I moved back to Bali), and very dull skin. But its okay, you can always fake it till you make it :P . I've heard many good reviews about this foundation, added up the fact that Kylie Jenner uses this combo for her make up routine. I'm sold!

5. A (Corgi) Puppy

No words to describe how much I want a puppy. Look at those cute little tiny feets......
But it might not happen anytime soon, as I still have pending plan to continue my study overseas. So looking at Loki The Corgi pictures on my instagram feeds will do for now.

Year End Recent Purchase

2:09 AM Nathasya Pricilia B Kristianto 0 Comments

A few stuff that I have purchased recently :)

1. Dior Skin Nude Air Serum SPF 20

 I walked in several make up counters during my visit to Jakarta earlier in December as I was super eager to get a new foundation to try. My sister and I walked to YSL counter first to see their Touche Éclat foundation since many youtubers were raving on it. I was super curious to try it on, but the SA was not the nicest SA on earth, so I left even though I was interested in their foundation, oh well. YSL, get a hang on your SAs -.- It was just nice that Dior was very near to YSL, so both of us walked in without having anything in mind. I came across this foundation, cos the bottle look super nice LOLLL I put it in the back of my hand.  The formula on the first try was something that I have never tried before. It was runny, like water but when its set, it leaves a velvet finish in your skin. It gives you the 'your skin, but better' look. Super natural, it feels nothing on the skin. Lightweight as hell. This is liquid foundation, but it feels just like my Chanel Vitalumiere Douceur. It has a light coverage, so if you have blemishes, you need to use concealer on top of this foundation for a fuller coverage. So far I am really liking this foundation for daily use. It looks natural, not too dewy, not too matte, it feels like I'm wearing nothing, got SPF, as well as looks good in photo (not in flash light though). If you are looking for a foundation that fits the criterias above, this foundation might work you! :)

Rp. 800,000++

2. Dior Star Fluid Foundation SPF 30

When I was trying on the Dior Skin, my sister took notice of this foundation. She heard many good reviews on this foundation, so I decided to give it a try. According to the SA, apparently this foundation will look extremely good in camera (much like the Make Up Forever HD Foundation). It has a medium to full coverage, and buildable as well. I wouldn't really use it for daily basis as it tends to feel a tad heavy -but it was not bad or anything. I use this when I know I will take pictures during the day as it gives the most beautiful finish and it covers as well. If you have oily skin, you will definitely need to set this with powder. I don't really like setting my base with powder except for going out at night, but with this one you will definitely need to set as it tends to get really shiny on the face.

Rp. 800,000++

3. MAC Strobe Cream

I bought this cos.... I just had to? LOL I've heard people saying how good this product is, so I need to get my hands on it. To be completely honest, I'm not really sure what this product is for. FML I know. I didn't even bother to ask the SA and just go ahead and pay, because I know I just have to buy it. So, what I do with this product is Iuse it after my skin care on the area that I always highlight e.g my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, under my eyebrow and my cupid bow and then I put my make up as usual. I will just say one thing about this product, LOVE. I paired this with my Benefit Sun Beam highlighter and my mind was blown. LOL If you are someone who likes to highlight, try this... it will change your life.

Rp. 480,000++

4. MAC Blush in Melba

Just had to try a MAC blush at least once in my life........

Rp. 400,000++

5. The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter

LOL okay you know what, buy the end of this post you might probably know that I am the victim of advertisement and other people's review. I walked pass The Balm counter in Seibu with my friends, so I decided to try this. This one is a highlighter that will give you a very natural looking glow with your face. But, it is also buildable to an intense highlighting if you need one during the night. It has very fine shimmers, so it doesn't look harsh in the skin.

Rp. 440,000++

6. MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy
do not have the photo of this lipstick, but OMG I totally love this lipstick!!!! My perfect everyday lipstick, with the perfect undertone, with the perfect finish. LOVE LOVE LOVE, even better than all my Chanel lipsticks, MAC I LOVE YOU.
