Sephora Bali Buys (February 2016)

I've been a fan of Sephora ever since relocating to Singapore few years back. I like these kinds of multi brand store where you just need to stop by one place and get all of your shopping (or research) done. The brand has just recently opened its first branch here in Bali, so I went to visit to take a look at the store. I was pretty much excited because the make up scene in Bali is very 'meh'. I never rely on buying off line since the brands that I use are mainly not available, so it is mostly online shopping or I stocked up when I go overseas. They have brands such as, Shu Uemura, Too Faced, Guerlain, Make up Forever, Benefit, Dior, Stila, Lancôme, Marc Jacobs, Bourjois, Laneige, Foreo, Percy & Reed, Living Proof and so on. I will have to say that stocks are super disappointing, guys. I was super excited to hit the Marc Jacobs counter to get a lipstick in shade 'Understudy' (btw this shade is super pretty!), but to no avail. Lipsticks stocks are pretty bad, they probably only have like 3 shades available out of the entire collection. Same goes for.... everything! Blush, concealer, eyeshadow pallete....... its just mainly everything. Not only for Marc Jacobs, but also for other brands. I'm not really sure whether they were all sold out, orr....?? One thing that also bugs me is that all their testers are just dirty. So lets say they have the products but the tester is not available or it is just shattered/disgusting (and I'm sure you don't even want to touch them :/). I know I shouldn't compare this store with the one in Singapore (especially Sephora at ION Orchard), but it is just not a good experience after all. If you ask me whether I will come back, the answer is yes I will. Since I am a make up junkie, once in a while I will have to check on some stuffs from some brands, you know it is always nice to feel and touch the product before purchasing. But, I will not rely on Sephora Bali until they improve their stocks. As for the prices, they are mmm reasonable? Actually, if you are tourist and you use your overseas card to purchase, it will be cheaper (even after the bank charges and all that) since Indonesian Rupiah recently weakens on some major currency like SGD and USD. Anyway.... long story short I still bought several things since I cant get out empty handed, so here are some of purchases that my sister and I bought.

1. Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Pallete - Rp. 598,000

I wanted to play around with eye make up since that's where I'm the most inexperienced at so this catch my eyes. They do not have stock for the natural eyes pallete (duh) so I settled with this one instead. The pigmentation is good, and I would say this is a very versatile pallete. The packaging is very compact, so it is great for travelling, and all colors are suitable for day and night look.

2. Benefit 'They're real!' Mascara (sample size) - Rp. 190,000
My sister got this since she is a mascara whore lol. She hasn't tried it yet, but I've heard good review for this product, so hopefully it will work on her.

3. Too Faced Melted Lipstick - Rp. 350,000
We got two shades (ok I cant remember the name, but hopefully you can tell by the picture above). I've heard this lipstick from the youtube guru ItsJudyTime, and both my sister and I wanted to try on it since we've never tried on this kind of melted lipstick (or maybe we had? The Etude House Rosy Lip Tint has similar consistency with this), and it does not disappoint. It does not crack dry lips, the color selection is great. Application is easy, but it is sadly does not last really long.

4. Beauty Blender - Rp. 350,000

5. Benefit Porefesional Primer - Rp. 480,000
My staple for primer, finally getting the full size.

6. Make Up Forever Aqua Brow - Rp. 290,000
OMG! I wanted to try this product for so longggg. This is a gel type brow color, that is supposed to be waterproof. I have tried this on, and I would say that if you want to play around with the shape of your eye brow (like I do), try this product especially if you have thick eyebrow, since this product has a very strong pigmentation, so you can draw on hair strokes naturally. But I will say that this is not for someone who is beginner in brow art, as this product is very unforgiving. You can tend to use too much product and thus it will not look natural.

7. Sephora Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover - Rp. 190,000
This product smells weird, but does the job so no complain :)

2016 (Early) Wishlist

To kick start the new year ( a little bit late I know :p), these are some stuffs that I am currently coveting:

1. A small cross body black bag

I am currently in need of a small black bag to throw my stuffs while running errand. Something that can hold all of my (unimportant) stuffs when I want to keep both of my hands free. The perfect bag should be in black color (so it will be easier to match), lightweight (lol this one is relative depending on how much I like the bag), made of durable skin (so that I can abuse it, and not worrying on wear and tear). I have done some research and come across selection of bags, such as

Balenciaga Classic Silver Envelope Strap - US$ 1,185

Louis Vuitton Twice - US$1,440

Celine Trio (Small) - US$1,020

2. Nike Huarache in White - US$ 110

I've been wanting an all white sport shoes since forever. Despite the fact that almost everyone is so against it (cos I'm such a jorok person LOL), I still love the look of it and want a pair. Originally, it doesn't really matter which brand or even if it is not unbranded. When I was in China, I went to an Adidas store in downtown Guangzhou, and found a pair of Stella McCartney x Adidas trainer that comes in full white (a bit of silver detailing here and there, but girl couldn't be bother). But it doesn't come in my size (FML I'm a size 34) so I ended up not getting it. I came across the Nike Huarache in Instagram, and instantly fell in love. I am still not sure how to get my hands on a pair (in all white and in size 34 double FML), but I am currently PATIENTLY waiting for that day to come.

3. Colorpop Lippie Stix (Matte) - US$5 & Shadows - US$ 5

I have previously tried the Colorpop Lippie Stix (the matte one, but I forgot the shade name) and really like the consistency as well as texture of the lipstick. I have really dry lips, and not all matte lips will work on me since they tend to dry out my lips pretty badly. But this one doesn't, I would say that it is comparable to MAC matte lipstick, with almost a third of the price. Since Colorpop cosmetic is all the hype right now, I am very eager to try out new things from them especially their colab with one of my most favorite youtube guru, Kathleen Lights. She came up with 2 eye shadow palette, as well as some lip products. I am trying to get my hand on these stuff from an Indo reseller hopefully, soon! :)

4. Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation - US$62 & Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation Illuminator - US$39

I always believe that a good base make up is the most crucial part of your whole make up look. If your eye make up is on point, you are having a good eyebrow day (very rare for me LOL), your highlighter is spot on but your skin is not looking good, that's the end of the game. I don't have the perfect skin, I have bumps all over my face (it gets worst since I moved back to Bali), and very dull skin. But its okay, you can always fake it till you make it :P . I've heard many good reviews about this foundation, added up the fact that Kylie Jenner uses this combo for her make up routine. I'm sold!

5. A (Corgi) Puppy

No words to describe how much I want a puppy. Look at those cute little tiny feets......
But it might not happen anytime soon, as I still have pending plan to continue my study overseas. So looking at Loki The Corgi pictures on my instagram feeds will do for now.
